In honor of William Larue Weller, a significant role in bourbon history, WL Weller 12 Year Old is a Kentucky-based American bourbon whisky. He is credited with being the first to make bourbon whisky by using wheat rather than rye. In 1849, he made his first batch of wheat bourbon. Compared to rye, the flavor of wheat is softer and smoother.
WL Weller, aged twelve years, is a member of the wheated bourbon family and is far older than most of others. This product has a gorgeous rich bronze color and is balanced, silky, and simple to drink.
This 12-year-old Kentucky Straight Bourbon, named for one of the first bourbon aristocrats, is a charismatic and classy drink. Weller’s original 1849 wheated bourbon formula is used in its creation, making it a very rich and smooth drinking whisky.
Aromas of toasted vanilla, creamy corn, almonds, and lanolin. The taste is complex, somewhat sweet, and highly wheated in the mid-palate. A very smooth, long-lasting, and oaky finish.
