This 26-year-old blended Scotch pays homage to the extraordinary gastronomic tradition of Italy by being entirely finished in Amarone della valpolicella wine casks, a first for Royal Salute. Amarone wine, which is highly regarded for its opulent nature and is deeply rooted in Italian tradition and artisinal methods, goes well with Royal Salute’s Scotch. The final blend has a distinctly rich and nuanced flavor that is the result of the extended finish in these priceless barrels.
The sweet taste of the Royal Salute blend is enhanced by the rich, decadent flavor of Amarone wine, which is produced in the Veneto area of northeastern Italy. Vibrant summer fruit aromas are perfectly created by master blender Sandy Hyslop. The combination of clove-ginger spice and dark chocolate creates an incredibly rich and distinctive flavor.
This whisky offers the nose these following aromas of rich plums, Seville orange zest, fresh raspberries, cherry tart, chocolate orange with nutmeg, cinnamon and ginger spice.
