This stunning Laphroaig 30 Year Old is the first edition in The Ian Hunter Story – a fifteen part series of rare single malts celebrating the life of Ian Hunter, the last member of the distillery’s founding family to own and manage Laphroaig. Hunter took over management of the distillery in 1908 and went on to have an influential role in creating the iconic whisky that we know and love today.
This gorgeous 30 Year Old was matured in first-fill American oak bourbon barrels and bottled at 46.7%. It comes in an elegant white box that opens to reveal a book inside, with space for the bottle cut into the pages, in typical bootleg style. It brings rich notes of peat smoke, honey, stewed fruits and aromatic floral tones and with only 4,800 bottles produced, it’s a highly collectable and rare release.
