Presenting Bunnahabhain 18 Year Old XVIII, with its refined beauty and distinct flavor. Bunnahabhain 18 Year Old XVIII builds on a few unique characteristics while still adhering to the fundamentals of the brand. Quite different from other Islay whiskies, the attractive single pure malt has a silky texture and sensual taste.
Most notably, the clean spring water used in the distillation process travels underground rather than through peat fields, which helps to preserve the body’s natural taste during storage. Another factor contributing to this is the use of slightly smoked malt as a raw ingredient.
Established in 1881 on the magnificent island of Islay. Using only the maritime trade for supplies and delivery, this unusual distillery has been making whisky for the seafaring community to carry. Bunnahabhain makes this clear by featuring a seafarer navigating rough waters right on their bottles. The 18-year-old XVIII is distinct from the other whiskies in the Bunnahabhain collection as it doesn’t have the typical peat smoke flavor.
Aromas of roasted almonds, orange peel, wild cherries, and leather fill your nose as soon as it is opened. There are notes of cinnamon, burned raisins, figs, walnuts, and leather on the tongue. Malt, oak and roasted coffee linger on the medium-length finish.
