Deanston Edition #1 Pioneer is the inaugural release in the Deanston Transformation Series, a bold new venture from Deanston Distillery. This limited-edition whisky is a blend of spirits aged for over 12 years in a combination of two distinct types of sherry casks and American first-fill bourbon casks. Carefully crafted to achieve a harmonious balance, this expression showcases the distillery’s dedication to innovation while respecting traditional whisky-making techniques.
On the nose, this whisky unveils a rich sherry cask influence with inviting aromas of milk chocolate, sweet chestnuts, and a hint of cinnamon. The first sip bursts with vibrant citrus flavors, mingling with the sweetness of raisins, caramelized fruits, and layers of orange, lemon, and sour cherry. These are beautifully intertwined with a touch of cinnamon and a luscious sweet citrus jam, creating a complex yet smooth tasting experience.
The finish is long and satisfying, leaving a lasting impression of delicate sweetness and warmth. Deanston Edition #1 Pioneer marks the beginning of a journey in flavor exploration, with the Transformation Series set to continue exclusively in Taiwan from 2022 to 2026.
