Glendronach Traditionally Peated, combined with the strong and mellow characteristics of the highlands, showing the full traditional mud flavor, but also with the rich and rich taste of Glendronach. Aged in top Pedro Ximenez Sherry casks, Oloroso Sherry casks and Porter casks, this rare Glendronach clay whisky presents highland toffee, molasses and smoked raspberry aromas with strong earthy soil notes and a lingering finish. The natural colour of this whisky, like every Glendronach whisky, is the result of slow ageing Spanish oak barrels.
In honor of Glendronach’s early whisky-making heritage, lead mixologist Dr. Rachel Barrie follows the same principles laid down by founder James Allardice nearly two centuries ago. At the time, it was traditional in the Scottish Highlands to burn clay in kilns at the end of germination, creating a rich, warm, and soily smoky taste.
